Brain Conteh Fly Sierra Leone’s Flag at the New York Fashion Week

Award-winning Sierra Leone-US-based actor, entrepreneur, and philanthropist has joined A-list models to walk the catwalk at this year’s New York Fashion Week. This year’s event in downtown Manhattan attracted A-list Hollywood stars like Gwyneth Paltrow, among others.

Brian Conteh joined other designers and walked the stage in his Africanana shirt and white pants to the stunning views of spectators.

Brain told SaloneJamboree in an exclusive interview that, “To stand on the grand stage of New York Fashion Week in New York City as a model was a dream fulfilled through grace. Sharing the runway with world-class models from Italy, London, Paris, and beyond was a blessing, and when I saw my image on a New York City billboard, tears reminded me of how far faith has carried me. This is not just my moment, it belongs to Sierra Leone, the nation of my birth, whose name I long to see lifted among the nations,” he said.

He went on to say that the designer has invited him on a worldwide tour to Japan, Dubai, London, Paris, and the Philippines. “She also encouraged me to launch my own line, promising to walk with me through the process, because I am very passionate and humble. Even if I cannot attend every destination due to business, job, and family responsibilities, the opportunity itself is unforgettable. From Sierra Leone to the screen, and now to the international runway, my modelling and fashion journey is a testimony that with God, impossibility becomes inevitability, and that every step we take in faith is a step toward destiny,” he said.

This year’s star-studded week of events included top-tier shows from Ralph Lauren, Coach, Tory Burch, and many more.
