He attended the prestigious Prince of Wales School, Kingtom, where he excelled academically while nurturing his talents in music, drama, and public speaking.
Driven by a desire to serve justice and contribute meaningfully to society, Jamil pursued a law degree at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, culminating in his call to the Bar in May 2023. In the legal profession, he was known for his sharp intellect, diligence, and principled approach—qualities that made him a respected young barrister.
Beyond the courtroom, Jamil’s creativity and leadership shone brightly in the world of media and entertainment. He founded A Jamil’s Mindset Production, a production company that combined storytelling with social impact. He believed that the press was a powerful tool to educate, entertain, and inspire, and he dedicated himself to this mission with relentless energy.
From 2020 to 2022, Jamil worked as a presenter and producer at Epic Radio 99.3 FM, engaging listeners on issues spanning entertainment, current affairs, and youth empowerment. On television, as the host of Activists on Point SL, he provided a platform for young Sierra Leoneans to voice their opinions and participate in discussions on civic and social issues. His work consistently highlighted his commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders and changemakers.
Jamil was also a pioneering filmmaker. His acclaimed movie, Taxi, captured the imagination of audiences and showcased his talent for compelling storytelling. He was deeply invested in promoting Sierra Leonean culture, mentoring young actors and creatives, and contributing to the growth of the local film industry. His creativity, passion, and mentorship left an indelible mark on the entertainment sector.
