Malakai’s debut album tops official classical charts

Malakai Bayoh’s debut album has reached top spot on UK’s classical chart. The album titled ‘Golden’ is an eight track album which includes songs like Somewhere, Benedictus, Caruso, Pie Jesu. The album is collection of both classical and classic songs.

Bayoh has received commendation from renown English composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, Walsh singer and presenter Aled Jones and the President of Sierra Leone for achieving such a great feat.

Bayoh, who began singing at the Saint George’s Cathedral choir at age seven, first came into limelight in the UK when he made his solo debut at London’s prestigious Royal Opera House in November 2022. Bayoh also featured on this year’s Britain’s Got Talent where made to the finals.

After winning the hearts of both judges and viewers on the show, Bayoh has signed a record deal with Universal, the home of legendary opera singer Pavarotti.

Bayoh was born and raised in Kennington in South London, but his parents are originally from Sierra Leone.
