
The Sierra Leone Association of Artists and Musicians (SLAAM) recently celebrated their 10th Awards ceremony at Hampton Heights in Maryland, USA. At this prestigious event, Pastor Johnny Wisdom, a former member of the Blind Musical Flames group, was recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the music industry.
Among the other winners of the night were the late steady Bongo, who received the Best Cultural Artist award for his song ‘Fake Married’, King Boss LAJ for Best Rapper, and Nashito Kulala for Best Producer.
The star-studded event was well-attended by Sierra Leoneans residing in the United States, showcasing the talent and diversity within the community.
Pastor Johnny Wisdom, known for his involvement in the 1992 hit album ‘High Morale’ with the Blind Musical Flames, has had a successful career in music before transitioning to serve as a pastor in the United States, where he now resides with his family.
